I’ve been performing since childhood, both singing and playing the piano. As an adult, I played leading roles in musical comedy and opera in Canada and England, as well as pursuing a busy career of concert touring across Canada and in the north western United States. I created a one-woman show, “Heartsong”, and performed it numerous times for fundraising events.
Choosing a more settled lifestyle, I added a Bachelor of Education degree to my Bachelor of Music, and taught French and music in a Toronto public school for several years. In 1991, my husband, John, and I moved to southern Ontario, Canada, where I maintained a vibrant private teaching practice, offering lessons in singing, piano and art.
During that time, I discovered a love for gardening and producing our own food. I heartily support the “eat local” movement. I have an organic vegetable garden and keep a small flock of laying hens. Let me tell you how easy and rewarding it is to keep chickens!
Twelve years later, I realized I had skills and experience that would fill a larger need. I have spent a lifetime perfecting the skills of singing, acting and stage presence. I have met and conquered the terrors of “stage fright” and I can teach you how to do it, too.
As a speaker and presentation skills trainer, I draw on a lifetime of onstage experience to provide a lively, insightful and thought-provoking presentation.
